Leisure & Non-essential Travel

Due to rising COVID-19 case counts across the Northeast, effective on November 10, 2020, the State of Vermont has suspended its leisure travel map and implemented a mandatory quarantine for anyone returning or traveling to Vermont.

For our VT resident members

• Vermonters returning from an out-of-state trip must complete either a 14-day quarantine or a 7-day quarantine followed by a negative test.

For our members from out of state

• Travelers arriving to Vermont in a personal vehicle must complete either a 14-day quarantine or a 7-day quarantine followed by a negative test in their home state to enter Vermont without further quarantine restrictions.
• Travelers arriving to Vermont who have not completed a pre-arrival quarantine must complete either a 14-day quarantine or a 7-day quarantine followed by a negative test in a Vermont lodging establishment or with friends and family (travelers must stay in their quarantine location for the duration of quarantine other than to travel to and from a test site).

Congrats to Ben on now being a 1-26 pilot. Couple of nice flights last weekend. Rock solid on take-off and climb out with zero hint of any of the typical first time 1-26 pilot PIO twitch. Nice job Ben.

Congrats to Colby who made his first solo flight today earning his A-Badge.

The starter repair has been completed and the tug signed off for return to service.

Tow pilots, instructors and ground support volunteers are needed for this weekend.

Unfortunately, the tow plane remains out of service. The needed part is on order, and I’ll post to the club as soon as we can fly.

We’ve unfortunately experienced a problem with the starter on the Callair towplane. We’d hoped to have it resolved by the weekend, but that’s just not going to happen.

Let’s look forward to several more weeks of soaring. As soon as the repair has been made, we’ll post to all members.

There has been good soaring weather all summer, and this weekend looks good as well. If you haven’t flown yet this season, sign up and get your checkout flights. The club needs to have your VOSHA Covid Training certificate on file, and masks, social distancing and adherence to our Covid Standard Operating Procedures is required. Yup – The new 2020 Elbow-bump solo celebration. Nice job Ben – great 1st solo, even did a little Soaring. ‘A’ badge earned.

Lots of activity today. Q2, B9, VOL, WQ, the club 1-34 and the yellow 2-33 all did plenty of flying.
